In this interview, Attorney Goff explains the differences between these two types of motorist coverage and gives you some examples of why you should make sure that you’re covered sufficiently. She notes that most people in Connecticut just pay for this insurance, yet they have no idea what it’s really all about.

Attorney Goff says, “Underinsured motorist coverage means somebody hit you without enough insurance and then your insurance can step into the shoes of that person and cover any differential between what you have and what they have.” She continues, “Uninsured motorist coverage is obvious, right? Somebody hit you without insurance and then your insurance company steps into their shoes and covers you for whatever limit you have.”
